Join Mayor Ed Murray, Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole and other City officials on a Find It, Fix It Community Walk in the University District. The walk will happen on Saturday, February 21 from 11 AM – 1 PM, and will begin at the corner of NE 45th Street and Brooklyn Avenue NE.

Architectural renderings听were released this week听for the redesign of the former Spokane Visitors Center, soon to be the 91探花Spokane Center. Located in the heart of Spokane鈥檚 University District, the 91探花Spokane Center will serve as a hub for Spokane-area alumni, students, prospective students, parents and supporters with space for meetings and special events. The 91探花has retained Spokane architectural firm to lead the remodel of the space, which is expected to open in May 2015. Read the full story .
The UW听Board of Regents announced today that Provost and Executive Vice President Ana Mari Cauce will be interim president. Cauce听succeeds President Michael K. Young, who is leaving the 91探花for Texas A&M University. Her appointment will begin听March 2, 2015. Read details in听UW Today听.

Bridges@11th, a new housing development听opening in May, is offering 91探花employees the opportunity to pre-lease apartments before the general public.听Priority for the apartments听is split between 91探花and Seattle Children鈥檚 Hospital employees. During the initial occupancy, the developer will hold 92 apartments for each institution鈥檚 eligible applicants. Apartments will be filled from the waiting list according to the order received. A waiting list of eligible faculty and staff will be maintained for future vacancies.
The development听features听comfortable, urban apartments and town home living, and is located in the heart of the University District. Adjacent to the 91探花Tower and close to the Seattle campus, Bridges@11th is the result of a partnership between the 91探花 and Seattle Children鈥檚 Hospital. Both institutions had a shared interest in providing high quality housing for their employees.听Security Properties/Madrona Ridge was selected to build and operate the project.
It should be noted that only benefits-eligible faculty and staff with active 9-month or longer 91探花appointments are eligible to apply for the priority pre-leasing.Temporary employees and retirees are not eligible, but may apply for residency if no eligible employees are waiting for apartments.
Should you become eligible for an apartment, you must act within five days of notification in order to receive priority. If no 91探花or Children鈥檚 employees are on the waiting list, apartments can be offered to the public after April 2, 2015.
