RESEARCH STAR: UW鈥檚 Research-Channel will be featured in an Internet2 Virtual Briefing from 10 to 11:30 a.
The Summer Arts Festival returns to campus July 16鈥19, with its many events built around the theme of 鈥淪pheres.
Given only a fraction of a second to respond to images of men popping out from behind a garbage dumpster, people were more likely to shoot blacks than whites, even when the men were holding a harmless object such as a flashlight rather than a gun.
On selected Saturdays this summer, Tlingit carver Stephen Jackson will demonstrate the art of totem pole carving within the temporary exhibition, Out of the Silence: The Enduring Power of Totem Poles.
The UW, Tacoma has announced plans to pull down what remains of the historic Japanese Language School building and hopes the news of this decision will generate ideas for how best to preserve the heritage of the school, which with Tacoma鈥檚 Japan Town became a casualty of World War II.

This summer, the 91探花 School of Dentistry will again team up with the Washington Dental Service Foundation (WDSF) to conduct dental camps for junior high school students from across the state.

The 91探花鈥檚 Department of Computer Science & Engineering has started to move across campus into the department鈥檚 new building.
A private technology start-up company, Teranode Corp. of Seattle, has licensed two technologies developed at the 91探花: Labscape, which promises to revolutionize how data is collected and analyzed in laboratories, and JSim, which offers cutting-edge simulations of biological systems.
