The Student Advisory Board for the last two months has held two general meetings opened to the campus to voice concerns regarding issues of diversity.聽By opening up the door for students to voice any issues seen on campus, SAB helps resolve these concerns through university administrators on campus and represents the student involved.
Currently the board is officially fully seated representing various RSOs (registered student organizations), the seven legacy groups, five at-large members, the eight AS 91探花student commission directors, 聽the student regent, and the GPSS secretary.聽 In the past month, SAB has also hosted its annual retreat in order for members to get to know each other and openly discuss topics relating to diversity and the impact that SAB can help leave on our campus. 聽Such topics discussed so far has been locating disability resources that are more accessible for students with temporary disabilities, and how this is an issue because of the lack of visible resources on campus. 聽Another point of discussion has been the issue of聽budget cuts at the 91探花and how this will heavily impact underrepresented students on campus. 聽Leaders in SAB thus stresses the importance for minority students to be represented in lobby days and write to our legislatures expressing our concerns about these cuts.
