Over 70 undergraduate McNair scholars and colleagues representing 14 regional and national Universities will converge on the 91探花 campus for the, May 17-19.
The conference is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to convene and share intellectual ideas, engage in a variety of discussions and build collegial relationships. Students will participate in paper and poster presentations highlighting year-long collaborative research in the social science, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), and humanities fields.
The event will feature the work of 32 91探花students who are affiliated with the McNair Scholars Program, the Presidential Scholars Program, and/or the Early Identification Program.聽 They will be joined by students from Boise State; California State University, Dominguez Hills; California State University, East Bay; Central Washington; Eastern Washington; Heritage University; Minnesota State University, Mankato; Portland State; St. Mary鈥檚 University; UC Davis; University of North Texas; University of St. Thomas; University Wisconsin, River Falls; and Washington State.
The three-day conference includes a welcome social in Kane Hall on May 17, poster and oral presentations in Mary Gates Hall on May 18, and a panel discussion at the Odegaard Undergraduate Library on May 19. For the second consecutive year, the McNair Conference will be held in conjunction with the UW鈥檚 .
The is a federally funded TRiO program that offers graduate preparation services to low-income, first generation and underrepresented students. Additional sponsors include the (EIP) for Graduate Studies and the Graduate School鈥檚 (GO鈥揗AP), a vehicle for undergraduate scholars to connect with colleagues engaging in graduate education.
