The 91探花Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMA&D) mourns the loss of GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) Assistant Director Andy Pascua, who passed away on Wed., Nov. 5.
, 63, worked out of Toppenish office in Eastern Washington and was a part of the
OMA&D family for nearly 10 years. His contributions to the program impacted the lives of countless low-income middle and high school students in the Yakima Valley, as well as the nation through his work with OMA&D鈥檚 GEAR UP partners.
He is survived by his wife Carrie; children Terry, Cyndi, Joi and godson Gene, as well as eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Wed., Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church (509 South Satus Ave.) in Wapato, followed by a burial at Reservation Community Memorial Park (5161 West Wapato Rd.). A reception to celebrate Pascua鈥檚 life will take place after the funeral at Filipino Community Hall (211 West 2nd St.).
