The Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMA&D) introduced first-year students and their families to the 91探花at its annual Welcome Daze Kick-off Luncheon at the Husky Union Building, Sept. 22.
Held in conjunction with UW鈥檚 Dawg Daze, Welcome Daze provides opportunities for incoming freshmen and transfer students to learn about campus and community resources, as well as connect with current students, OMA&D staff and 91探花administrators.
The festivities included a welcome program with remarks from OMA&D Vice President Rickey Hall, OMA&D Associate Vice President Gabriel Gallardo and student leaders Kendra Canton (AS 91探花Director of Diversity), Osman Salahuddin (AS 91探花President) and Julien Ishibashi (OMA&D Student Advisory Board Chair). Serving as emcees were Robin Neal, Director of the Educational Opportunity Program, and Zachary McKinlay, Multicultural Outreach & Recruitment Admissions Counselor.
The program also included entertainment and raffle prizes, and was followed by a resource fair.
