May 22 iHeal public lecture with Dr. Adil Haider

Haideri-Heal (Injury-related Health Equity Across the Lifespan), a new program launching this spring, will be part of the UW鈥檚 Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center. It seeks to increase injury-related health equity and decrease disparities for patients from historically marginalized groups, those with comorbid behavioral health conditions, those with limited English proficiency, and those with financial or social barriers to healthcare access.

As part of its launch, i-Heal will welcome Dr. Adil Haider (pictured)聽to the 91探花for a public lecture on May 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dr. Haider is credited with uncovering racial disparities after traumatic injury and establishing the field of trauma disparities research. Dr. Haider is an active, prolific researcher and the Kessler Director for the Center for Surgery and Public Health, a joint initiative of Brigham and Women鈥檚 Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He is also the Deputy Editor of JAMA Surgery.
