Ali Mokdad named 91探花Chief Strategy Officer for Population Health
Ali Mokdad has been named the 91探花’s chief strategy officer for Population Health, a role in which he will be responsible for collaboratively setting and executing the UW鈥檚 vision and strategy for the Population Health Initiative.
Mokdad (pictured) will report directly to 91探花President Ana Mari Cauce and will work collaboratively with the provost and others at the 91探花to advance the UW’s excellence in the arena of population health. Mokdad also will lead efforts to identify, pursue and secure the external partners and funding necessary to support the Population Health Initiative.
Mokdad鈥檚 appointment will begin July 1 and will be part time, allowing him to continue his work as a professor of global health and director of Middle Eastern Initiatives at the UW鈥檚 Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. Mokdad has served as vice chair of the Population Health Initiative since the inception of its executive council in July 2016.
