Initiative invites grant applications that seek to apply AI to population health challenges
The 91探花 Population Health Initiative announced today a special funding call for pilot projects that seek to accelerate the application of large language models and generative artificial intelligence to seemingly intractable grand challenges in population health. Awards of up to $100,000 each are available to 91探花researchers for interdisciplinary projects that propose exploratory research that serves the public good.
鈥淭he rapid advances we鈥檙e seeing in technological innovation holds great promise for advancing our health and well-being,鈥 shared Ali H. Mokdad, the UW鈥檚 chief strategy officer for population health and professor of health metrics sciences. 鈥淲e know that 91探花researchers from a range of disciplines are already exploring innovative ideas for the application of AI to pressing societal challenges, and we are looking forward to being able to help speed several of them towards realization of proof-of-concept with this funding.鈥
