What tools and resources are available for award data and reporting?

The following tools and systems assist the research community with legacy and Workday Finance reports. Review the Reporting webpage for additional information.

  • Award Portal:听Review up-to-date grant and contract information. Financial data does not include expenditure detail, which can be found in Workday.听.
  • Award and Modification Workbook for Units: This Excel workbook provides access to award and modification/amendment data (status, totals, etc.) for units. Please contact grantrpt@uw.edu to access the Excel workbook and the SQL query that forms the basis of the workbook. Watch a video demo of the workbook.
  • BI Portal:
    • : This report provides detailed information on applications submitted for Sponsored Program funding. It can be used to understand historical and active application rates.
    • : This report focuses on awards with requests in progress, including MODs, temporary extensions, related competing applications, subawards, and non-award agreements.
    • : This report shows ASRs and MODS received by the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) from FY2024 – present. It can be used for finding the status of ASR and MOD requests, identifying holds, and understanding return reasons; analyzing trends in request volume by cost center, PI, or sponsor; and analyzing trends in returns.
    • : This report shows SAGE subaward requests received by OSP from FY2024 – present. It can be used to track subaward request status, prioritize or escalate requests due to projected completion dates, and analyze subaward trends.
    • Workday Variable Reporting Period Transaction Summary, Workday Variable Reporting Period Budget Summary, and Find Journal Lines Reports
    • A of the Post Award Dashboard in the BI Portal provides basics of navigating the dashboard to get answers to common questions about expenses and balances remaining on awards.

  • The Financial Desktop was originally built to help transition users from MyFD to Workday. It has been reimagined as a central hub for reports, tasks, and tools organized by business process area. To learn more, refer to.
  • Grant Reporting Tools:
    • Use the听 to track in-progress items at each stage of the grant lifecycle.

    • New versions of the Grant Manager and PI Dashboards offer better visibility into PO and program activity, along with quick access to curated resources. To learn more, refer to.
    • Grant Financial Analysts can now configure key tabs in the Grant Manager Dashboard with role-specific reports. To learn more, refer to.
    • The Post Award Dashboard now offers the Award Amounts and Amendments view. This displays the total funding for awards by school/college/unit and by department, and can also be sorted by prime sponsor/type and sponsor/type. For instructions on how to filter, review results and drill down for detail, please see .鈥�
    • The displays expenses by grant and fiscal period. It is the first step in a process that ensures centralized compliance for grant spend verification. After generating the report, it is reviewed in DocuSign, and then stored in for its retention period. and send questions to datagrp@uw.edu.

  • Grant Tracker: Use Grant Tracker to view information for awards that did not convert to Workday (i.e., awards closed before June 16, 2022). Grant Tracker will be in read-only mode effective July 7, 2023. If you need to contact GCA about an award that did not convert to Workday, please email听gcahelp@uw.edu.听.
  • MyResearch:听As of July 6, 2023, MyResearch Funding Status and Non-Award Agreement (NAA) data may be out of sync with SAGE and Workday until MyResearch is remediated. Please use听听to review eGC1 and award status until further notice.
