Effort Reporting
The Federal government requires that charges to Federal awards for salaries and wages must be based on records that accurately reflect the work performed. Review Uniform Guidance
For the 91探花faculty this is accomplished through the effort reporting process via the Employee Compensation Compliance (鈥淓CC鈥�) system. 聽 These reports provide supporting documentation for salaries charged directly to sponsored projects plus effort related to meeting cost share commitments, salary cap, or level-of-effort requirements. Salaries without a corresponding certified effort statement 聽are considered unsupported and are subject to disallowance.
Roles
- Individual faculty members, with assistance from departmental effort coordinators, are ultimately responsible for accurate completion of Effort Statements reports and for making necessary adjustments to direct salary charges to grants and cost sharing required to reflect actual effort.
- Department effort Coordinators assist faculty with the effort reporting process to ensure accurate reporting of salary charges made directly to grants and cost shared effort performed.
- Post Award Fiscal Compliance (鈥淧AFC鈥�) is responsible for oversight to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
