Formaldehyde Safety Training
Training provides awareness of the health risk, exposure prevention, signs and symptoms of exposure, and how to report suspected exposures when using of formaldehyde in gas, its solutions, and materials that release formaldehyde.
Who is required to take this training?
University personnel with reasonably anticipated potential exposure to formaldehyde greater than 0.1 ppm
Summary of the requirement
Training must be given at the time of initial assignment, if there is a new exposure, or at least every 12 months. Training includes the regulations, SDS for formaldehyde, purpose of medical evaluations, health hazards, reporting signs or symptoms, PPE, spills, and emergency procedures.
