Hydrofluoric Acid Safety Training
This online course is for all personnel who work with or may be exposed to hydrofluoric acid or products containing hydrofluoric acid. You will learn about hydrofluoric acid health hazards, regulated exposure limits, engineering controls to prevent exposures, safe use practices, personal protective equipment, waste disposal, and hydrofluoric acid spill and emergency response.
Who is required to take this training?
All University personnel that work with or may be to hydrofluoric acid in the workplace, including those who work in research, clinics, teaching laboratories, shops, and facility services.
Summary of the requirement
Training must be given prior to initiation of work and refresher as needed. Training includes health hazards, regulated exposure limits, engineering controls, safe use practices, signs and symptoms of exposure, PPE, waste disposal, and spill and emergency response procedures.
