Research Security Training
The Research Security Training program provides information on risks and threats to the global research ecosystem — and the knowledge and tools necessary to protect against these risks. It discusses the key concepts of research security, disclosure, risk management and mitigation, and international collaboration.
Who is required to take this training?
All covered individuals participating in projects sponsored by federal agencies with research security training requirements. The definition of covered individual varies depending on the federal agency. Generally, however, it is:
- “An individual who (A) contributes in a substantive, meaningful way to the scientific development or execution of an R&D project proposed to be carried out with an…award from a Federal research agency; and (B) is designated as a covered individual by the Federal research agency concerned.” See .

Note: In order for this training to properly appear on MyResearch Training Transcript for others to view, you will need to fill in your 91̽NetID in your CITI profile. See instructions below.
Registration info
- Follow the link to
- Select “LOG IN THROUGH MY ORGANIZATION” and select the 91̽
- Login using your 91̽NetID
- Follow prompt to create a new CITI Program account if needed
To update your CITI profile with your NetID:
- In the top right corner next to your name, click the arrow to open the menu.
- Click on Profiles.
- Scroll down to the Institutional Profiles section and click on the Edit Profile button next to 91̽.

- On the Institution Profile page, scroll down until you see the 91̽NetID field.

- Enter your NetID and click Update.
This will ensure that all of your CITI trainings appear in MyResearch Training Transcript once completed.
