All sponsored program proposals must be reviewed and approved by campus units, appropriate compliance offices and the <a href=\"\/research\/osp\/\">Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"\/research\/policies\/gim-1\/\">GIM 1: Review and Submission requirements for Proposals<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Review the <a href=\"\/research\/step-by-step-proposal-submission-quick-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Step by Step Proposal Submission Quick Guide<\/a>: to walk through administrative steps, tools and processes for the proposal submission process.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"egc1-req\"><\/a>eGC1 Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>OSP requires an eGC1 for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pre-applications, Pre-proposals, Letters of Intent \/ Interest\u00a0<\/strong>requiring authorized official (AO) submission\/sign-off\u00a0<strong>or\u00a0<\/strong>that contain budget details. EH&amp;S will work with PIs to obtain necessary federal clearances, approvals, and training. This includes following all <a href=\"\/research\/glossary\/technical-instructions\/\">technical instructions<\/a> and required sponsor forms, components, sections, and attachments, per sponsor program announcement and policy.<\/p>\n<p>RTS proposals <b>must <\/b>have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Documents attached in the order required by the sponsor<\/li>\n<li>Ready to Submit question on the eGC1 is marked \u201cYes\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The eGC1 in &#8220;In OSP&#8221; status.<\/li>\n<li>The PI has given OSP access to the proposal in the sponsor system (e.g., FastLane, proposalCentral, eRA Commons etc), if applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An eGC1 does not have to be marked \u201cYes\u201d RTS to be reviewed by OSP. This is determined by the most recent time OSP receives the item.<\/p>\n<h3>New \/ Competing Renewals<\/h3>\n<p>Your OSP reviewer will respond within 2 business days of an eGC1 being \u201cIn OSP\u201d status. It will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a status update or,<\/li>\n<li>Be reviewed and returned with OSP review comments or,<\/li>\n<li>Submitted,\u00a0if no changes needed and marked \u201cRTS\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>OSP Review Comments: Required and Recommended Changes<\/h3>\n<p>If parts of the proposal or eGC1 need revision, OSP will email comments to the PI and eGC1 Administrative Contacts and return the eGC1 to the PI.<\/p>\n<p>These comments will be marked as <a href=\"\/research\/policies\/gim-1\/#required-and-recommended-changes\">Required or Recommended Changes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Required Changes <strong>must<\/strong> be made before submission to the Sponsor.<\/li>\n<li>Recommended Changes are recommended based on OSP review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All changes and a RTS proposal on an eGC1 and in a sponsor system, if applicable, must be \u201cIn OSP\u201d by 5 pm 3 business days before the sponsor deadline, or you will need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/policies\/gim-19-internal-deadlines-for-proposals-to-external-entities\/#gim-19-waiver-request\">request a GIM 19 Waiver<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Incomplete eGC1s<\/h3>\n<p>eGC1s with significant differences from the attached proposal, where OSP does not have access to a proposal in the sponsor system or eGC1s that do not contain a proposal will be returned to the department without review by OSP until these issues are corrected by the department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contents System Access &amp; Registration Proposal Routing eGC1 Requirements Project Information on eGC1s Prepare for Submission What is Ready to Submit?
