ORCID iDs are maintained by the nonprofit <a href=\"http:\/\/orcid.org\/\">ORCID<\/a>. At this time, the 91探花 is strongly encouraging registering for an ORCID iD.<\/p>\n<p>Some federal sponsors require ORCID iDs in their Current and Pending or Other Support or Biographical Sketch forms, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/ia\/digital-persistent-identifiers\">Department of Energy (DOE) requires all covered individuals to include their ORCID iD<\/a> on their Current &amp; Pending Support and in their publications<\/li>\n<li>NIH:\n<ul>\n<li>All individuals supported by research training, fellowship, research education, and career development are required to have ORCID IDs linked to their eRA Commons Personal Profile. <a href=\"https:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/notice-files\/NOT-OD-19-109.html\">See NOT-OD-19-109<\/a><\/li>\n<li>As of 1\/25\/2026, NIH will also require all individuals completing the Common Forms for Current and Pending Support to:\n<ul>\n<li>Link their ORCID iD to their eRA Commons account<\/li>\n<li>Confirm their ORCID iD is displayed in the Persistent Identifier (PID) section of the Common Forms<\/li>\n<li>See <a href=\"https:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/notice-files\/NOT-OD-26-018.html\">NOT OD-26-018<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We expect other federal agencies to require ORCID iDs soon.<\/p>\n<p>Please use the  91探花Health Sciences Library <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.lib.uw.edu\/hsl\/orcid\">instructions<\/a> to set up your ORCID identifier.
