SAGEBRUSH SEA.
DESCRIPTION: SAGEBRUSH STEPPE
ECOSYSTEMS ARE SPREAD OVER A VAST
AMOUNT OF THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST IN
THE UNITED STATES FROM NORTHERN
ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO THROUGH THE
EASTERN HALF OF WASHINGTON. HOWEVER
SAGEBRUSH DOMINATED HABITATS ARE
UNDERSTUDIED AND UNDERVALUED IN
MOST CONVERSATIONS. IN THIS CLASS,
WE WILL DIVE DEEP INTO THE LIVES OF
THE PLANTS, ANIMALS, WATER WAYS, AN
PEOPLE WHO CALL THE SAGEBRUSH SEA
HOME. TOPICS WILL INCLUDE
HISTORICAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES,
ECOLOGICAL INTERACTIONS AND
ADAPTATIONS, AND FUTURE CHALLENGES
LIKE LITHIUM MINING AND RENEWABLE
ENERGY DEVELOPMENT. THIS SECTION
WILL BE OFFERED ONLINE/ASYNCHRONOUS
MODALITY.
