The Power of Partnership: Building Strong STEM Transfer Connections
The STEM Transfer Partnerships (STP) initiative aims to improve the success of low-income students transferring from two-year to four-year colleges in STEM fields. Nine partnerships collaborated to improve advising, recruitment, and curriculum. Key success factors included strong relationships between institutions, a focus on student needs, data-driven decision making, and effective leadership. These strategies can serve as a model for other institutions seeking to improve STEM transfer outcomes.
