In leading corporate and foundation relations efforts for the 91探花, Joanna seeks to forge mutually meaningful relationships with external partners. Joanna focuses on campus-wide strategies for corporate and foundation engagement and oversees projects to facilitate productive, responsive relationships with the University鈥檚 organizational partners.

Andrew leads institutional strategy in foundation relations, coordinates major interdisciplinary initiatives for institutional priorities, coaches faculty selected for private foundation limited submission opportunities on proposal development and trains Advancement staff and faculty in corporate and foundation relations best practices. He manages a broad portfolio and supports foundation partnerships in engineering, environmental science, natural sciences and other STEM fields. He also partners with colleagues to support opportunities in the social sciences and business. He works with the Office of Research to review foundation limited submission opportunities and coaches faculty who are selected to represent the 91探花for these opportunities.

Lene collaborates with 91探花colleagues to develop and implement strategies to engage with foundations at unit and institutional levels. She supports the health science units including Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Dentistry. In partnership with the senior director, she works with the Office of Research to review foundation limited submission opportunities and coaches those faculty selected to move forward on their proposals.

Sumathi collaborates with 91探花colleagues to develop and implement foundation engagement strategies at the unit, campus and institutional levels. She supports foundation partnerships in built environments, education, information studies, law, libraries, policy and student affairs. She also partners with colleagues to support opportunities in the arts, humanities and social sciences.聽

Mark leads the central corporate relations team in building holistic, mutually beneficial industry partnerships and engagements across the broader 91探花community. Together with colleagues, he works to create campus-wide strategies and develop trusted relationships with corporate partners.聽 Mark brings a deep background in many areas of technology including telecommunications, digital graphics, video compression and automotive research.

Kent drives research collaborations and academic initiatives with industry partners, aligning with the 91探花鈥檚 goals. He develops corporate donor stewardship strategies and leads the 91探花Innovator鈥檚 Pledge Program in partnership with CoMotion Labs. Kent’s multilingual and cross-cultural experiences from living abroad, combined with his 20+ years in high-tech marketing, program management and business development and his dual degrees in economics and public policy, significantly enhance his ability to build strong relationships.

Dorian is committed to building relationships and improving engagement between corporate partners and the diverse schools and colleges of the 91探花 (UW). She offers strategically focused planning and implementation support to partners across the UW鈥檚 Bothell, Seattle and Tacoma campuses. With more than 20 years of higher education experience, Dorian brings a depth of knowledge in connecting corporate partners with beneficial programs across the UW.

Michelle helps staff and the UW鈥檚 corporate and foundation partners understand and navigate internal processes and procedures. She helps staff determine whether to apply to funders as the 91探花or the 91探花Foundation, and works with the 91探花Office of Sponsored Programs to manage pre- and post-award activities for grants to the 91探花Foundation. Michelle provides staff with information on grants and contracts and manages the annual Boeing University Relations and Wells Fargo requests for proposals.

Carolyn serves as the project management lead for Central CFR. She supports the team鈥檚 efforts to engage the UW鈥檚 corporate and foundation partners through strategy development, research and stewardship. In addition, Carolyn manages Central CFR鈥檚 learning and development program and website.

Angela oversees and creates strategic donor-centered communications for both individual and organizational donors. In collaboration with faculty, staff and Advancement colleagues, she helps manage limited submission proposals to national funders; creates personalized stewardship pieces, proposals and other materials for major donors; crafts correspondence and social media posts; and coaches faculty on framing and storytelling.

Kari serves as the administrative and operations lead for Central CFR. In addition to providing executive-level support to the Assistant Vice President, Kari manages the team鈥檚 budget, coordinates site visits and events and develops content for the Corporate and Foundation Funding Opportunities Database. Kari is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Studies from the 91探花 Jackson School.

David leads the administrative needs for the Corporate Relations team. In addition to calendaring and coordinating site visits and events, he manages travel and develops content for the Corporate & Foundation Funding Opportunities Database. David holds a master’s degree in Arts Administration from Indiana University Bloomington and is currently a student at Seattle University School of Law.
