Consumer advocate Ralph Nader will address the 91̽»¨ Law School tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 2) on his criticisms of the World Trade Organization ? issues that have drawn thousands of protesters to the streets during this week’s WTO conference in Seattle
The 3:30 p.m. speech, open to the public, arose from an invitation by the Public Interest Law Association, a student group, and the 91̽»¨student chapter of the National Lawyers Guild.
Honored by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century, Nader has emerged as a leading voice against what he calls “control of world economies by giant corporations that don’t have any allegiance to a community.”
“The essence of globalization,” Nader recently wrote, “is a subordination of human rights, labor rights, consumer environmental rights and democracy rights.
A half-hour question-and-answer session will follow Nader’s hourlong talk.
