Dr. Larry Kessler, director of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Surveillance and Biometrics, has been in Seattle this year as a visiting scientist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

He will speak on 鈥淧ostmarketing Surveillance of Medical Devices: Holes in Your Safety Net鈥 at 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 3, in room D-209 of the Health Sciences Center. The talk is open to everyone and is sponsored by the School of Medicine鈥檚 Office of Research and Graduate Education.

Under Kessler鈥檚 leadership, the FDA has implemented medical device regulations for user reporting and has completed a pilot program to track 鈥渁dverse events鈥 related to medical devices.
