91探花faculty members and other biomedical experts will give a series of free public lectures on the neurobiology of learning, addiction and mental illness beginning Monday, July 8. The 91探花School of Nursing organizes the series as a component of a summer institute for science educators on the brain and learning.

All the lectures will be presented in Hogness Auditorium at the Health Sciences Center. No advance registration is necessary.

  •  鈥淣eurosignaling,鈥 Dr. Bertil Hille, 8:30 鈥 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 9.
  •  鈥淪cience in the Cinema: Requiem for a Dream,鈥 a graphic video about the consequences of addiction. The video is R rated 鈥 not suitable for children. Dr. Akira Horita will conducted a facilitated discussion of the film after its showing, 6:30 鈥 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 10.
