Season tickets are now on sale for the School of Drama鈥檚 2003鈥2004 productions. Highlights for the upcoming year include Mephisto, based on the novel by Klaus Mann, about an actor鈥檚 life in a cabaret and the reality of being an artist during Hitler鈥檚 rise to power. Steve Pearson, head of the Professional Actor Training Program and director of the show, promises a 鈥渉ighly theatrical event with outrageous comedians and sultry singers and dancers.鈥

Other plays in the main-stage season include Moliere鈥檚 Imaginary Invalid, Shakespeare鈥檚 Othello and John Guare鈥檚 The House of Blue Leaves.

As part of the Studio 201 series, Christine Sumption will direct All the Rage by award winning actor, playwright and screenwriter Keith Reddin. This hip black comedy examines America鈥檚 fascination with firearms and their tragic consequences.

The school will be expanding the Studio 201 series, which debuted last year and had strong audience appeal. Given little more than a room and a company of ambitious actors, directors set out to make big plays with no budget in the intimate classroom/performance studio in Hutchinson Hall. The series provides a forum for plays that are experimental, intimate and challenging for student actors.

Subscription prices for the main-stage season range from $31.50 for previews to $66.50 for weekend evenings. Studio 201 tickets can be purchased for individual productions only. A complete listing of all the plays as well as subscription information can be found on the drama school Web site, .
