Richard Goss has been named medical director of Harborview Medical Center and associate dean of the 91̽»¨School of Medicine. Goss has served as the acting medical director of Harborview for the past ten months.

Goss is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine. For the past 13 years, Goss has served Harborview and the community in clinical care, teaching and administrative roles, including associate medical director for quality improvement at Harborview, director of the Adult Medicine Clinic, and medical director of the King County Correctional Facility. He serves on the Management Committee of the statewide Clinical Outcomes Assessment Program.

Goss succeeds Scott Barnhart who stepped down to pursue global health opportunities as a member of the medical staff at Harborview and 91̽»¨Medicine last year.

Goss received his medical degree from the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine and did his internship and residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his master’s degree in public health and completed the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at the 91̽»¨in 1996.
