The third location of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute opens today in Everett.
The public is invited to a 3 p.m. ceremony at the Everett Senior Center, 3025 Lombard Ave.
91̽»¨Educational Outreach administers the institute, which offers 35 to 40 short courses and special events each quarter for people 50 and older.
91̽»¨instructors, retired 91̽»¨faculty members and community experts teach the courses, which range from arts and history to health science research. Annual membership in the institute is $110.
Institute classes are also offered on the 91̽»¨Seattle campus as well as at Trilogy at Redmond Ridge, a planned housing development for seniors in Redmond.
“We’re pleased to partner with the City of Everett to open the third location of OLLI-UW, said Susan Turner, director of the institute and senior director of academic programs for 91̽»¨Education Outreach. “It’s one more way to share the intellectual resources of the University with the Puget Sound community and beyond.”
