91̽»¨Technology has launched a new Web site, IT Connect (), designed to connect 91̽»¨faculty, staff and students with information technology resources, services and news on campus, and connect users with one another.

The site has five main parts:

• News — Includes information that used to be found in OnTechNews, the email newsletter delivered to all faculty, staff, and students.

• The Basics — Quick links to getting started in the online world at the UW.

• Services — A guide to information technology resources and how to use them.

• Get Help — How to access assistance available through 91̽»¨Technology regarding NetIDs, passwords, and other technological issues, and how to reach those resources through phone, email, Web or in person.

• Voices — Links to IT forums, blogs and IT executive or administrative management groups.

For now, much of the content at IT Connect comes from those Web pages that were identified as “Computing and Networking,” with content that has been streamlined and updated. But more topics are being added. People who wish to suggest additional content or news for the pages will find a form at .

“The goal of IT Connect is to provide content that is user friendly and accessible,” says Scott Mah, associate vice president of 91̽»¨Technology Services. “Credit goes to Rick Ells, our Webmaster for IT Connect, as well as many subject matter experts who have contributed to the site. Although 91̽»¨Technology has created the site, our intent is that this will become inclusive for all 91̽»¨IT-related content.”

More topics are being moved to IT Connect, and the pages should be more fully developed by Autumn Quarter.
