If you’re looking for a little night music next week, there will be three concerts to choose from.


It all begins with a concert by the University Chorale, under the direction of Giselle Wyers, on Monday, May 24, in Meany Theater. The group performs selections from a recent concert tour to the Baltics, including a full performance of Durufle’s Requiem, with Hyun-a Choi, organist, and a set of madrigals by Thomas Weelkes, Thule the Period of Cosmography, and The Andalusian Merchant.


Composition faculty artist Huck Hodge and Jazz faculty artist Cuong Vu co-direct the 91̽»¨Contemporary Group on Wednesday, May 26, in Meany Studio Theater. Program selections include an untitled improv/composition by Hodge and Vu; Cobra, by John Zorn; Pendulum, by Steve Reich with cello improvisation by guest David Balataro; and Workers Union, by Louis Andriessen, performed by the 91̽»¨Percussion Ensemble.


On Thursday, May 27, the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and 91̽»¨Choirs perform The Future of Fire, by Zhou Long; Our Enduring Spirit, by Stephen Michael Newby; Angels in the Architecture, by Frank Ticheli, featuring faculty artist Joyce Guyer, soprano; and Aspen Jubilee, by Ron Nelson. That concert is in Meany Theater.
