Get on the 91探花Autism Center’s autism awareness events

You might notice something unusual about the 91探花Tower on April 1 and 2. Blue lights will illuminate the top floor of the 22-story building on the Seattle campus.

Its part of the autism awareness campaign, and the 91探花Autism Center has planned a series of events aimed to promote awareness and provide information for families, educators and clinicians.

“These events are a great way for families to interact with our terrific clinicians and researchers, to get practical tips that can be used at home and to learn about the latest scientific discoveries in the world of autism,鈥 said , director of the 91探花Autism Center.

The free activities and information sessions will be held throughout April in Seattle and Tacoma. Free childcare is available with advance registration.

The events in Seattle include sessions on improving communication skills and healthy-eating in children with the disorder as well as stress-relieving tips for caretakers. Learn from an expert in special education about what to look for in school programs for children with autism spectrum disorders. And, a pediatric neurologist will discuss brain causes of autism and autism-linked seizures.

In Tacoma, clinicians will talk about strategies for handling everyday behavior issues that are often seen at different ages.
