University researchers like those at the 91探花are often required to attend trainings, but they may not always be aware of it.

“Our investigators have frequently noted how difficult it can be to learn and keep informed about training requirements and other research-compliance related issues, given the UW’s decentralized structure,” said Jeffrey Cheek, 91探花associate vice provost of research compliance and operations.

Thats why the Office of Research is introducing a new website.

“We developed this site in partnership with multiple central 91探花compliance offices and 91探花researchers,鈥 Cheek said. “All of them share the same goal: 听assisting members of the 91探花research community to easily identify training required for their area of research.鈥

The Required Training site was constructed in consultation with 91探花researchers and 91探花training providers to identify those courses directly applicable to the conduct of research.听 This site provides:

  • An overview of all research-related trainings that can be filtered by research area
  • A detailed description of each training, including the required frequency and target audience for each course
  • Easy access to training registration
  • Information about the specific federal and state regulation or 91探花policy that mandates the training requirement
  • The ability to share results from a pre-filtered set of results

The information provided on the site will always represent the most current information available as of the date published in the page footer.听 But although the page will be actively reviewed and maintained, there may be other requirements for any individuals research.听 Therefore, researchers should always know their sponsors requirements, and check with their department or OSP Administrator regarding training requirements specific to their research activities.听听Researchers are expected to know and comply with all laws, regulations and University policies pertinent to the conduct of research.
