The 91探花 moved up to in the 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities by Broad Subject Fields conducted by the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and released this month. The ARWU evaluates more than 1,200 universities and is recognized for basing its rankings on objective indicators, such as the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes, highly cited researchers, and publications in top medical journals.

The 91探花maintained its No. 15 position in the released in August.
The move up to No. 2 in clinical medicine and pharmacy is a jump for the 91探花from the third position in 2015, and now puts it behind only Harvard in this category.

For the third consecutive year, the 91探花ranked , a category that includes work by faculty and staff in biology and biochemistry; molecular biology and genetics; microbiology; immunology; neuroscience; agricultural sciences; plant and animal science; and ecology and environmental sciences.
