Jeffrey F. Scott has been named executive vice president for finance and administration (EVP) at the 91探花, President Ana Mari Cauce announced today. Currently Senior Vice President at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Scott will provide leadership for the central business services of the University, including finance and facilities, human resources, information technology, and capital planning and development. He starts Dec. 5.
鈥淛eff Scott brings a wealth of diversified and highly relevant experience in the public and private sectors to this important administrative position,鈥� Cauce said. 鈥淗is experience in higher education, government, and business gives him a wide range of expertise upon which to draw as he assumes responsibility for our various business practices. I鈥檓 looking forward to working with him and helping to advance support of our mission on the business side of the University.鈥�
Scott comes to 91探花after two years at Georgia Tech, where he led the Institute鈥檚 finance, budget, capital planning, real estate, and institutional research departments. 聽He strengthened financial governance and accountability, led improvements in financial processes and training, enhanced the management of international operations, and began transformational changes related to enterprise systems.

Prior to Georgia Tech, Scott spent six years at Columbia University, leading its student and administrative services. 聽He directed student accounts, financial aid, housing, dining, health services, information technology, and human resources.
Before entering higher education in 2008, Scott held a number of positions in the private and public sectors. He spent 13 years in a variety of positions, including chief strategy officer, at FMC Corporation, a machinery and chemical multinational company. He also served in Washington as the chief financial officer of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Scott spent his early career with Chrysler, General Dynamics, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Pentagon.
Scott graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and received his master鈥檚 in public policy at Harvard鈥檚 Kennedy School. 聽He holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
