On Friday, September 19, 2008 the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity hosted its 5th annual Welcome Daze. The OMA&D offers Welcome Daze to incoming students and families in conjunction with the 91探花鈥檚 Dawg Daze as a way to inform them of campus resources and to connect them with other incoming freshmen and transfer students. The event was held at the HUB and it included a welcome by President Mark A. Emmert, Provost Phyllis M. Wise and Vice President/Vice Provost Sheila Edwards Lange. Student speakers included AS 91探花President Anttimo Bennett and Student Advisory Board Co-Chairs Vanessa Vassall & Sabrina Fields.
The event featured a 91探花resource fair for the new students and their families. Representatives from OMA&D programs, 91探花departments, 91探花services, and student organizations were available to answer questions and give out information. Students also participated in a pinning ceremony to mark the beginning of their educational journey.
