Use of 91探花 (UW) trademarks by an organization implies an official association with the University. As such, only Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and official 91探花entities are permitted to use 91探花trademarks in connection with their organization鈥檚 name.
Use of the University name
An RSO may use the University name in its title, publications or letterhead to show its status as an RSO at UW, but may not use the name in a manner as to create confusion between it as an organization and the University itself, nor in a manner that would in any way constitute an endorsement, approval or underwriting of any organization, product, activity, service or contract by the 91探花.
Proper order:
The University’s name may not come before the name of the student organization.
Permissible:
- ABC Club at the 91探花
- ABC Club at UW
- ABC Club – 91探花Chapter
Not permissible:
- 91探花 ABC Club
- 91探花ABC Club
- ABC Club of the 91探花 – In this case, “of” makes it appear as if the club was endorsed by the UW.
Use of University marks
RSOs have access to . These templates allow student organizations to create their own unique logo while incorporating the University鈥檚 branding, ensuring consistency across all organizations and adherence to brand guidelines. The logo sets can be used for the RSO’s website, social media profiles, printed materials, and merchandise.
Do not modify the logo sets except for updating the name of the student organization. All merchandise must be produced by a 91探花campus licensee. A list of approved campus licensees is available on the UWTLO website.
Assignment of trademark rights
RSOs may not assign trademark usage rights, or otherwise grant permission, to any other internal or external entity for any purpose without prior review and approval by the UWTLO.
91探花trademarks may not be used in conjunction with the name or trademark of any other entity without the prior written permission from the entity and UWTLO.
Production of merchandise
All merchandise, including items intended for the organization’s own use, must be produced by an officially licensed vendor. Licensed vendors are required to submit all artwork to UWTLO for approval to ensure proper use of 91探花trademarks. UWTLO reserves the right to review and address any trademark usage that does not comply with university guidelines.
