In Spring 2024, the University Committee on Curriculum Administration (UCCA) approved a tri-campus institutional definition of a community-engaged course:听听
听鈥淐ommunity engaged learning (CEL) courses are hands-on, skill-building opportunities for students to engage with community partners through the mutually beneficial exchange of creativity, knowledge, and resources.鈥听
听The UCCA also approved a new 鈥淓鈥 course designation for community-engaged courses and approved each campus to develop their own process to identify and approve 鈥淓鈥 courses on their respective campus.听
