91探花Bothell offers grants supporting international course collaborations

91探花Bothell is spearheading a UW-wide effort to deepen global engagement of students in the classroom聽by聽supporting online collaborations with international partners. These collaborations support the development of leading-edge, globally-focused student experiences without requiring students to travel abroad.

The new聽COIL International Fellows聽program is designed to support 91探花faculty and staff from all 91探花campuses to develop Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses.聽 The initiative is overseen by and funded by a聽听驳谤补苍迟.

In fall classes, students question the answer to global problems

This autumn quarter, 91探花students are engaging with global issues through courses in a wide variety of fields.

One course,聽Information Assurance and Cyber Security,聽is a tri-campus, multi-disciplinary effort involving 91探花Bothell’s聽Computing and Software Systems Program, the Information School and 91探花Tacoma鈥檚 Institute of Technology. The Criminalization of Immigration course at 91探花Tacoma digs into global issues from a social science perspective. The聽School of Environmental and Marine Affairs聽will take students out of the classroom for a new field course that studies the challenges of governing coastal and marine areas in the 21st century.

New 91探花course explores history, politics of global health intervention

A new Department of History course challenges students to explore the complicated history of health intervention. Through critical examination of case studies from the Middle Ages to the present day, Associate Professor Adam聽Warren聽hopes to empower and inspire students to take leadership and learn from history.聽
