Personal Training

Personal training is one-on-one fitness instruction that incorporates fitness assessments, detailed body composition analysis, goal setting, and exercise education. Following an introductory session, your trainer will guide you through challenging workout routines specifically designed for your fitness needs.

New Clients

An introductory session is mandatory for new clients! This introductory session with your trainer will give you a detailed analysis of where you should take your fitness program. Throughout this session, expect basic assessments such as info-gathering and potential physical fitness tests.

Your personal trainer will contact you when they has been notified by the fitness manager of your purchase.听 All clients are required to purchase additional training sessions prior to scheduling more sessions.

Personal Training packages are now trackable!

Any in-person Personal Training packages purchased听on or after听March 24th听will be trackable through your member profile! To view your personal training packages:

  1. Sign into your account on our听.
  2. Select your name in the upper right corner, and select听Profile.
  3. 厂别濒别肠迟听Multi-Visit Passes from the list below your name and profile picture.
  4. View all purchased personal training packages, number of visits remaining in each package, and expiry.

InBody 570 scanning machine.

The is the ultimate body scanning device. This high tech, modern and accessible device will give you an accurate, fast and noninvasive reading of your body composition.听 Test results display lean body mass, percent body fat, BMI, segmental analysis, water intake, basal metabolic rate and more! The Inbody is included for patrons of the personal training program.

  • Students: Free

Note: the InBody 570 should only be used 1-2x times per quarter.

Customized Exercise Programs

Are you looking for some structure in your fitness journey? Our certified personal trainers will provide you with a four-week exercise plan (up to three days per week) that will help you reach your fitness and wellness goals in a timely and realistic manner!

  • Students: $60.00 per plan
  • Faculty & Staff: $75.00 per plan

Members and non-members can purchase an exercise program!

If you have never worked with a personal trainer at the IMA before:

Once you have purchased your customized exercise program, you will then need to complete the听听session. This is our 鈥渇act-finding鈥 session that will help the trainer understand your goals, so that they can provide a tailored program.

If you are already working with a personal trainer at the IMA:

If you are already working with a trainer, you do not need to purchase the new client session again. You can expect to receive your program within one week after purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

You must be an IMA member to work with your trainer in person.

Non-IMA members can continue to train virtually.

Personal Training sessions are 50 minutes.

Come prepared to each training session in proper workout attire and footwear. Participants arriving unprepared for their workout will lose the session.

Clients are responsible for arriving on time for their training sessions. Trainers are obligated to wait only 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the trainer is not required to lead the remaining time of the session, and the session will be lost.

Clients are asked to contact their trainer 24 hours in advance of the scheduled training session. You will be charged for appointments canceled with fewer than 24 hours’ notice.

颁濒颈别苍迟蝉听forfeit听a personal training session if:

  • They are more than 15 minutes late.
  • They听attempt听to听cancel听or听reschedule their session听with less than 24 hours鈥 notice.

Your personal trainer听is听not required to听honor your scheduled session听if you arrive 15 minutes or later to your session.

Personal training sessions are refundable听if:

  • The client purchased the wrong package, and the client does not intend to use the package they accidentally purchased.
  • Injury/illness/an emergency prevents the client from using the sessions they听purchased听before they expire.*
    • Packages expire 6 months after purchase.
  • The client cannot reach their听trainer,听their trainer听fails to听show up for a session, and efforts to transfer your training to a different personal trainer have failed.

*This is听not true for Customized Exercise Programs.听Refunds for Customized Training Programs will not be granted in cases of听injury/illness/an emergency听due to the nature of the program.

In all cases outlined above, the client must听submit听a听beforetheir package expires听to听be eligible for a refund.听Packages expire听6 months听after date of purchase.

If the client does not听submit a听听before their sessions expire听and/or听the client鈥檚 refund request does not fit the above criteria, we make听no guarantee听that the client will receive a refund.

Individuals registering for personal training must complete all personal training sessions by the end of the client鈥檚 eligibility to participate in the program (current IMA membership) or by the expiration date of the training package, whichever comes first.
