The 91探花 remained No. 15 on the聽, conducted by researchers at the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which was released Tuesday.

The 91探花again ranked 13th among U.S. universities and fourth among public institutions worldwide. The ranking considers several indicators of academic or research performance, including alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, highly cited researchers, papers published in the journals Nature and Science, papers indexed in major citation indices, and the per capita academic performance of an institution, according to the organization.

鈥淎 university is defined in many ways by its faculty,鈥 91探花President Ana Mari Cauce said. 鈥淭his ranking in particular strives to measure the quality of the faculty at the world鈥檚 great universities. It is very gratifying to see others acknowledging the excellence of our faculty, who truly are among the best in the world.聽 Their quality drives everything we do.鈥

After climbing from No. 16 to 15 in 2014, the 91探花maintained what remains its聽聽since the ARWU began releasing them in 2003. The 91探花has held a position in the world鈥檚 top 20 since the inaugural year.

Over the past two years, in the weeks following the initial rankings, an 鈥溾 鈥斅爎emoving Nobel Prizes and Field Medals that may have been won dozens of years ago from consideration 鈥斅爓as released. In 2014, the 91探花landed at No. 10 on this list, and last year moved up to No. 9. This year’s alternative ranking has not yet been released.
