The 91探花 maintained its No. 10 spot on the聽, released Tuesday. The 91探花is second among American public institutions.

鈥淥nce again, it鈥檚 great to see the 91探花 recognized for the impact of our scholarship and research. This ranking is a tribute to the opportunities we seek to create for the talented students learning at our public institution,鈥 91探花President Ana Mari Cauce said.

Now in its fifth year, the Best Global Universities methodology 鈥 which is based on Web of Science data and metrics provided by Clarivate Analytics InCites 鈥 weighs factors that measure a university鈥檚 global and regional research reputation and academic research performance. For the overall rankings, this includes bibliometric indicators such as publications, citations and international collaboration. The top 1,250 schools were ranked.

The following 91探花areas of study ranked in the top 25 of the U.S. News & World Report Subject Rankings:

  • Biology and biochemistry (No. 11)
  • Clinical medicine (No. 6)
  • Geosciences (No. 5)
  • Immunology (No. 10)
  • Materials science (No. 25)
  • Microbiology (No. 4)
  • Molecular biology and genetics (No. 8)
  • Neuroscience and behavior (No. 21)
  • Pharmacology and toxicology (No. 4)
  • Physics (No. 24)
  • Social sciences and public health (No. 8)

Separately, also Tuesday, ranked the 91探花as No. 28 on its new list of America鈥檚 Favorite Charities. The 91探花ranked highest among American public universities. This ranking of 100 charities is based on a group鈥檚 cash support 鈥 the total value of money and stock it received as gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations. The Chronicle focused exclusively on cash and stock because that money comes directly from individuals. The publication excluded government grants, donated products and contributions to donor-advised funds.
