Early November brings more than just beautiful autumn colors and, yes, rain to our campus 鈥� it also brings several important events.

• Daylight saving time ends Nov. 2, so enjoy the extra hour of sleep!
• Election Day is Nov. 4. The 91探花has one of the highest voter participation rates of any university in the country 鈥� let鈥檚 continue that this year! On the ballot are Seattle mayor and city council seats, King County executive and more. Find voting information on the and the .
• On Nov. 8, we鈥檙e celebrating National First-Generation Day 鈥� a day recognizing first-gen students (aka, Huskies like me who are the first in their families to attend college). Learn more about our first-gen students and, if you鈥檙e first-gen,.
• Veterans Day is Nov. 11, and we鈥檙e honoring the service and sacrifice of military veterans on our campus and around the country. Please note that most University offices will be closed.

You’ll confront, discuss and fight against appearance ideals pressed on us by society and social media in small groups of 6-8 people in weekly 1-hour sessions for 4 weeks.

Hello Huskies,

We鈥檙e just a few weeks away from the end of spring quarter! I know many of you are feeling the excitement this time of year always brings, but you may also be concerned about the challenges facing our university.

These are difficult times: we are facing frequent and unpredictable changes at the federal level, pressing budget issues and disruptions on campus. And while I can鈥檛 predict what will happen in the future, I can say with certainty that the best way for us to navigate all of this is together.听

As President Cauce said in her message at the end of April, it鈥檚 crucial that we unite in the face of these unprecedented challenges. We are always stronger when we stand together as a community – when we remember our shared values and unite behind our common purpose.听

Spring is here, and that brings three things to our campus:听

1. Midterms. If you need study help for exams, or at any other time of the quarter, there are abundant available, including departmental advising,鈥痶est prep, tutoring and exam reviews.
2. Commencement. This is one of my favorite days of the year! I can鈥檛 wait to celebrate with all of our graduating students and their families. If you鈥檙e graduating in June, consult the graduation checklist to make sure you鈥檙e on track.
3. Spring weather. Be sure to enjoy some sun during these final weeks of the year. Being outdoors is great for your mental and physical health, so give yourself a boost by studying outside, going for a walk or heading to the Waterfront Activities Center to spend some time on the water.

Join LiveWell and SARVA in supporting survivors and working to end sexual and gender-based violence at our Take Back the Night (TBTN) event on Wednesday, April 23, from 6-8 p.m. in the HUB North Ballroom. Host a Spread the Love Food Drive!

The 91探花Food Pantry is holding its annual Spread the Love Food Drive Campaign! Partners around campus are encouraged to hold 1-3 week drives anytime through mid-March. The 91探花Food Drive Coordinator will supply advertising materials, donation bins, and donation drop-off and pick-up 鈥� all you have to do is advertise the event!听

If your group or organization would like to hold a drive, please . Individuals can also donate directly to the pantry during operating hours (Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. 鈥� 6 p.m.). Every single drive and donation goes a long way in supporting this essential resource for students and staff on campus who are experiencing food insecurity. Husky Health Center (HHC) is now offering medication abortion (MAB) services to 91探花 Seattle campus students through on-site providers as part of a continuum of reproductive health care services. There are several reasons HHC has added this service:听听
