Afternoon Check-in: May 14, 2026, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Check-in on the afternoon of May 14, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Mary Gates Hall, regardless of session location. Enter the check-in queue on the south side of the building and follow the signs to get in line based on your last name.
Morning Check-in: May 15, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Preparing for Your Session

Poster Presenters
There will be five poster sessions throughout the day across campus with each session lasting around one hour. All presenters are expected to show up the morning-of or 10 minutes before their session to set up their poster. Poster presenters view more detailed information below.
Oral Presenters
There will be three oral sessions throughout the day across campus with each presentation lasting 12 minutes (10 minute presentation and two minute Q&A) with a five minute break in the middle of the session. Presenters cannot use their own laptop. Oral presenters view more detailed information below.
Visual Arts & Design Exhibitors
There will be one Visual Arts & Design session throughout the mid-day lasting about two hours. Exhibitors will be expected to be present most of this time. Exhibitors view more information below.
Performing Arts Performers
There will be one Performing Arts session throughout early afternoon lasting about two hours. Performers will have designated performance times. Performers view more information below.
What to Wear, Your Audience, and Your Wellbeing
What to Wear
Wear what makes you feel confident! Presenters often choose to dress more formal than their everyday style to feel more confident and in charge, but we encourage you to wear whatever you feel best in. Be sure to wear shoes that you’re comfortable standing in for long periods of time, or to bring a comfy pair of shoes to change into after your presentation.
- Though not required, you are always welcome to wear a mask while presenting in any space. Please view the 91̽»¨ for more information.
- For students seeking free, gently used, workplace attire, please check out the located within the in MGH 134.
Your Audience
This event is open to the public. While 91̽»¨faculty, staff, and students do make up a large portion of the audience who come to listen to student presentations, you can also expect to see family and friends in attendance to support presenters. We will also have students and mentors attending from 18 peer institutions across the state.
As you prepare for your presentation, remember that your audience may not have any background information about your field of research. Be sure to make your presentation accessible for the general public and reduce the use of undefined jargon where possible. Your Wellbeing
Presenting can cause a flurry of emotions and feelings, and that’s okay! If you’re feeling stressed or anxious, here are a couple of guided practices and campus resources that you can use to ground yourself before or while presenting:

Request Accommodation

Food and Beverage
The 91̽»¨ campus and its surrounding neighborhood, including the U District and U Village, offer great food and beverage options. On campus you have access to a variety of UW-provided food options and grab-and-go, including places like the , or Starbucks and other cafe’s located in the Henry Art Gallery, Suzallo Library, and the Hans Rosling Center for Population Health.
Each building containing presentations will generally have available a water fountain. In Mary Gates Hall you can also access food, beverage, and coffee-specific vending machines.
